Milwaukee Mile Criterium
WISCONSIN: West Allis - Milwaukee Mile Criterium - RESULTS PHOTOS The Milwaukee Mile - home of auto racing since 1903 and currently the oldest operating motor speedway in the world. The last time a bicycle race was held here was around 1989, so this was a real treat to those who came here instead of going to Iowa. The oval is 1 mile around, but parts of the inner road circuit were included to make up a 2 mile course to race on. No, the timing strips built into the track were not used, but the large PA system was. The voice of power.
The largest field was the Master's 3/4 with 52 racers. Take ride along in that field with Team Velocause' Matt Nitka.
The Pro 1/2 Women's race was dominated by a pair of visitors from Colombia -
Diana Penuela and Cristina Sanabria who are guests of the local Schneider family. Coach Dave Schneider has been instrumental in bringing in a number of top Colombian women riders to this area to help them develop into world beaters since the opportunities for them to race in their own country are very limited. After some translation of the chief official's announcements into Spanish by TIBCO's Skylar Schneider, the duo quickly put the wide, fast course to good use by time trialing away from the rest, easily taking first and second, with Schneider filling the last podium spot after a long, solo chase of her own.
In the men's Pro 1/2, the field was only 27 men strong, but none the less, they made good use of the entire course, sometimes riding right along the pit lane wall, and at other times right along the grandstand wall. Four riders escaped half way through the race taking a commanding lead that stuck to the end. Albertus Rohling lead out the sprint, but faded just meters before the famed finish line allowing Kevin Berger to add his name to the select list of racers who have won on this historic track.

Thanks for linking my video, I am however on the team, CZ Velo, not Velocause. My title of the video on YouTube might have been a bit misleading.
